I want to know if you too will feel as I did. More satisfied and stunned after each piece that I would after completing a good book. I saw this in a school as a class work for year 12 students left by their teacher on my relieving job.

MINI SAGAS
A MINI SAGA IS EXACTLY 50 WORDS LONG. It is a complete story. The title is often very important in directing the reader’s attention to the point of the story, so titles may be up to 15 words long.

1.OUT OF MOUTHS OF BABES?

‘Come and meet my friend on
Sports day Mummy’
Sports day came.
Where’s your new friend, Paul?’
He’s sitting on the front
Bench.’
There were ten on the front
Bench.
‘He’s wearing red shorts’
There were three boys with
Red shorts.
‘His hair is curly’
‘Oh, the black one,’
Said Mummy.

2. THE MAKER

He gathered his tools and materials and shaped
Mountains and deep trenches;
He carefully traced out the continents.
He painted the sky and sea blue. With loving care
He placed fluffy white clouds in the sky
And deftly shaped figures and objects.
And on the seventh day he rested.

3. WHO GOT THE BEST BARGAIN

Harris boasts he gave an African a cheap watch
For an uncut diamond.
Sold it and gambled the proceeds for more.
Abukali tells of the tiktik he swapped for a wife
And two goats.
Harris chases further millions.
Abukali sleeps in the shade while his children tend
His twenty goats.

Smith gave Ahmadu his wrist watch and received in return a raw daimond lump.
Ahmadu traded the tick-tick for a wife and two goats.
Few years later, while Smith was chasing his millions in NY, Ahmadu in Africa was asleep under a tree and his sons were tending his twenty goats. His wife was preparing on wood fire his simple evening meal.
